Detroit’s Belle Isle Bell Tower

Since it opened in 1940, the bells of the Belle Isle Tower have graced the ears of many a Detroiter who is enjoying a day at one of the city’s most iconic locations. Situated next to the most of Lake Takoma, the granite tower looks like something out of Lord of the Rings movie.

“Whenever I have been at this spot before, it was in the winter time. This year I stopped by during summer and was pleased to find that leaved trees in the foreground and the structure of the water seemed to frame the Belle Isle Towner in an ideal manner.” – Brian Kurtz
