GM Renaissance Center From Milliken State Park

The GM Renaissance Center as seen in the summer from the far east side of the small harbor at Milliken State Park.

“A number of weeping willow trees line the shore of the harbor at Milliken State Park and provided some foreground framing for Detroit’s most famous high-rise building – the GM RenCen. I have been to this location with my camera only in the winter which means the trees were devoid of leaves and I was unable to get this shot, so I made sure to take a special trip in during the summer months.

The main downtown area is actually rather minimized in the background from this location and getting the Renaissance Center to be a large enough focal point required maximum zoom capability from my camera and lens.” – Brian Kurtz
