Henry Ford Museum In Early Spring

The famous fountain on Belle Isle in Detroit is named after James Scott, one of the city’s most famous mayors. The lions look out over the still water at the statue of Mr. Scott and he looks back at them.

“This was my first trip to the Belle Isle Fountain at dawn and I did not know that they turn the fountain off in the evening.  While I was a bit disappointed at first for not having the opportunity to capture the fountain in soft early light without the mid-day crowds, I soon discovered that with the water perfectly still, the fountain took on a completely different type of character that a lot of people probably never get to see for themselves.”  – Brian Kurtz
