With winter failing fast in early March, this boardwalk span leading into the heart of Crosswinds Marsh represents a transition from winter to spring.
“This is one of two good images from this trip to Crosswinds Marsh. All of the water pictured was covered in a thin sheen of ice, though you can only see it well on the right side of the image. In the companion image, ‘Death of Winter’, the boardwalk still has ice clinging to the floor boards. The ice is gone here though, and more clearly represents that spring is soon to come into its own.” – Brian Kurtz
