Homeless Man Sitting Under a Bridge

A homeless man sits under a concrete highway bridge. He wears a warm coat to protect against the winter’s chills. How did he come to this place? It’s doubtful that he would have envisioned this for himself when he was in elementary school. Nobody thinks, “I’m going to grow up to become a homeless man sitting under a bridge.” Yet here he is. Stooped under a heavy load of sadness, he sits in silence.

While this scene may seem a bit despondent and full of depression, it’s important to remember than there are many people who have bounced back from homelessness. The power of the human spirit is greater than we give it credit for. This same man could end up owning a small business and retiring in Florida to do some deep sea fishing. All he needs is a little help and guidance.
